19 of the Russian's 21 championships have been achieved on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev won his first title for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has endured a challenging season, achieving just one match at the big events and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in especial - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with long-time mentor Cervara.
Presently working with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
It is his first championship since the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface after spring of the previous year.
Victory also signifies he has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 different tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to get a title is especially meaningful," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his previous six championship matches, including in the German tournament in the past months.
The player's counter-punching approach and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had led commentators to wonder if his skill to compete at the top level was concluded.
But the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, striving to advance forward and play positively, reinforced by an enhanced service.
The champion came back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky opponent, winning four of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players swapped service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his first professional championship, gained dominance to force a final set.
He saved 4 early-game break points in a competitive third set before the Russian broke to 15 to close out the victory.
Fittingly, he earned victory with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to handle a return after a lengthy match.
